The starting point for experiencing the mountain in every season

Baita Gimont sits at the centre of a network of trails and routes that change with the seasons. In summer, it's the gateway to alpine lakes, panoramic peaks and mountain bike routes between Claviere and Montgenèvre. In winter, thanks to its position in the Via Lattea ski area, it becomes a popular destination for skiers, snowshoers and ski mountaineers heading towards Col Boeuf, Grand Charvia and the mountains surrounding the Monti della Luna basin. Whatever the season, here the mountain is always within reach.

Alpine lakes

Il Lago dei sette colori, o Lago Gignoux

Lake Gignoux, or the Lake of Seven Colours

One of the most striking alpine lakes in the area, famous for its shades of colour that shift with the light and the seasons. It can be reached in summer with a walk of about 1 hour 30 minutes, or by mountain bike. (Summer 1h30 | Winter 2h)

Lake Foiron

Nestled in the woods of the Monti della Luna, it's an ideal destination for a nature walk amid silence and alpine views. (Summer 1h30 | Winter 2h)

Lake Nero

Located at the foot of Col Saurel, it's one of the most popular lakes among hikers. Along the way, you can stop at the Bergerie and buy the famous Toma del Lago Nero cheese. (Summer 2h)

Monte Gimont and Grand Charvia

Monte Chaberton

Circuit of the Centuries-Old Larches

A loop trail through some of the most distinctive landscapes of the Monti della Luna. Starting from Baita Gimont, it leads to Colle Bercia and La Coche. (On foot 3h | By bike 1h30)

The Gnomes' Trail

Snowmobile Dinner

During the winter months, we organise memorable dinners at altitude with snowmobile transfer from Claviere, for a special evening immersed in the magic of the snowy mountains. A unique experience combining the charm of travelling through the snow, the tranquillity of alpine landscapes and the authentic flavours of Baita Gimont's cuisine.
